Rudraksha, the most celebrated accessory of spiritual seekers has been used extensively since time immemorial. These Panchmukhi (Five Faced) Rudraksha Malas are very supportive in maintaining physical and mental balance. For spiritual seekers, it supports to enhance one’s spiritual growth.

Botanically known as Eliocarpus Ganitrus, Rudraksha are the dried seeds of a tree which grows in select locations of South-East Asia, predominantly in the upper Himalayan mountain.It is also called “Tears of Shiva” and there are many legends connected to Lord Shiva that describe its origin. The word Rudraksha comes from "Rudra" (name of Shiva) and "Aksha" meaning tears.

Anyone, irrespective of gender, cultural, ethnic, geographical or religious background can wear Rudraksha. They are intended for persons at any stage in life irrespective of mental and physical condition. It can be worn by children, students, the elderly and ill for many benefits.

It is often worn while performing puja to purify our thoughts. It is also suggested to be worn when feeling unwell because it has legendary healing abilities. Finally, it is worn by those who are constantly moving from one place to another because it creates a cocoon of safety around the wearer.

Traditionally, the number of beads is 108 plus one, the bindu. Depending on the size of the Rudraksha seeds, the mala will have varying number of beads. The 108 and 27 beads malas are also used for doing Japa.

Beads vary in size from 4mm to 9mm. They are of the same quality; it is just a question of convenience. The smaller the beads, the more they cost.

This particular mala has very fine quality beads of 4mm each.
